Having moved from the North West, I'll admit to like North West Tonight with Gordon- simply because it's proper news most the time. Granada Reports I couldn't stand- although the short bulletins are pretty good.

Now I'm back in Devon, it's Spotlight for me. I must admit to being impressed by Victoria Graham- friendly and informative along with Justin Leigh. Spotlight clearly is back on form at the moment, my thought that Thresa Discoll thinking she was the the best thing on local TV has been provided correct. Boy could that woman SHOUT HER LINKS!! Teresa Driscoll was an excellent presenter!! I miss her greatly, although she was always better with Russell Labey than Justin. I wouldn't say she shouted, she just had a particularly 'posh' voice. After 15 years, she came to symbolise Spotlight for me - authoritative but fun. Victoria is, however, very impressive - much more so than Alex Lovell, although I'm even warming to her now too!

Overall, the South West is very lucky with both its programmes being of a high standard with good presenters. Shame the West isn't as lucky!

Reporting scotland, dull as dishwater,? at least it a dirty Wink

so dull, and lifeless. and I;m sure there had the same tiltes for the last 6 old years!

Lookaround - I thourgh there where two version:

one for england,
one for scotland,

althourgh the first 10mins are the same.

I nearly fell asleep while watching both,

thank god for Scotland today.

I feel I'm going to cause some controversy here but I'm going to say Calendar. I can't say I have ever been remotely interested in any item I've ever seen on that programme. Second out of all that I've seen would be Look North Hull. Not much incentive to watch regional news anywhere though, and I would struggle to find any to even think about saying they could be considered the best.

I thought Look East was pretty bad - the biggest problem seemed to be with the chemistry between presenters in particular the bloke with white socks and the stuck up woman. Strangely its got the best ratings for BBC regional news programming. Its further perplexing that the editor has moved to the Peter Levy Love-in Show in Hull which has the third best ratings in the UK. Why does being crap lead to ratings success Rolling Eyes

There are no seperate versions of Lookaround - just an opt-out part way through for those viewers north of the border.
