So will GMT be on an hour earlier than published during the summer months? Laughing

Well that's what they do with World News on BBC Four isn't it? I think they give it two showings on BBC World??

I think the evening schedule (Europe) is still fixed to CET, so World News Today and the other evening programmes should be at the same time (CET) all year around, the daytime programmes move backwards and forwards an hour in Europe, but stay the same in countries with no daylight saving time. In 1995 / 1996 BBC World used to put an extra "Time Out" slot in at 1730 CET in the Winter, and at 1030 CET in the Summer whilst the schedule in between, which included Newsdesk and Newshour Asia Pacific moved (from a European point of view) an hour forward in the summer.

Having just at bbcworldnews.com I see that GMT is still at 12:00 UK Time, despite BST starting, so it looks as if its fixed to 1200 UK Time/ 0700 ET so that US viewers get to see it as their early morning show. Correct me if I'm wrong but when GMT and Impact Asia started in February, GMT was at 1200 UK Time (1200 GMT) and Impact Asia at 1300 UK Time (1300 GMT) , now GMT is 1200 UK T (1100 GMT) but Impact Asia at 1400 UK T (which is still 1300 GMT). Complicated.

Can't say I've ever watched Working Lunch, its not my thing, but I'm pleased to hear GMT is going to be shown on BBC Two, if anything it should fill the void left in the daytime schedule since the axe of Channel 4 News at Noon. Plus considering that BBC Two daytime is rather bland and that they no longer have Schools programmes on, it's good to see something regular in the schedule. The only thing what does this mean for The Daily Politics? Especially on Wednesdays for PMQs.

GMT is actually fixed to US time. So during the three week between the clocks changing in the states and the UK it moves to 11 British time.

A shame to see WL go, but in my opinion it's not been the same since they replaced the old team of Nik Wood/Adam Shaw/Paddy O'Connell.

I agree. They ruined the show when they changed it last year. I was hoping they would revert to the previous format eventually, but alas they've decided to axe it instead.

Agree about Paddy and Adam - but was never convinced that Nik Wood was suitable as an Adrian Chiles replacement. I know he had history with the show - and was a previous Business Breakfast presenter - but I don't think he was good enough to carry the show, and I have a feeling that may have triggered the relaunch. (He often seemed uncomfortable, which is never comfortable for an audience to watch)

Replacing any lead presenter after 13 years would be tricky - I think they should have gone for Paddy O'Connell 5 days a week.

Yes, that might've worked better, Paddy and Adam being the main presenters and Nik staying as a reporter/relief presenter. I recall Working Lunch didn't always have two presenters anyway; I remember Adam presenting on his own a good few times.

Yes - I think when Adrian was away Adam would often perform both the presenter and markets reporter role, though on Friday the show was often an hour instead of a half-hour and usually had two presenters. (Paddy and Adam presented Fridays towards the end of Adrian's tenure as presenter)

I even recall Angela Rippon presenting on the Friday hour long shows a few years back! Paddy and Adam were a great pairing...even better than Adam and Adrian dare I say it! Wonder where Gillian Lacey-Solmar will end up, always liked her...wasn't she a launch business presenter on News 24 in '97?

Does the BBC Four edition of WNT still have the CNN style BBC WN DOG and program titles, I'd love to see how that's gonna work out on BBC Two.

Yes - but luckily not for long. She wasn't a patch on Paddy.

Gillian was in all the launch promotion for News 24 ("It's not just boring men in grey suits...") but ISTR she had a major arm injury and didn't actually appear that much, and by the time it had healed she'd got another job?
