Will be interesting to see if we see any senior presenters coming on over night. Quite a big story I'd say.

Yes, the death of a foreign singer who hadn't had a hit here for over a decade and almost everyone had forgotten about really merits getting the black ties out and calling Dimbleby in Laughing

They did it for Michael Jackson; a foreign singer who hadnt had a hit here in over a decade. Perhaps some people had even forgotten about him!

Who did they bring in? The most I remember is a newsflash on BBC1 with Martine Croxall and Tim Willcox who were on duty, and Alastair Stewart doing the same on ITV1. No-one special was brought in were they?

Tim, Martine and Alastair are special enough in newscasting royalty terms, Drew. Come on old boy! LOL.

Lyse Doucet should have been called in, along with Moira Stuart, if you ask me!

Well, Lyse was in Oslo until a few hours ago and Moira (say "BIG MOIRA") is now retired from reading the news on telly. LOL. But, nevertheless, I agree with you on both counts, Dan.

Alas, we've had to make do with the excellent Martine Dennis on World for the last seven hours, and who better to bring us that coverage than lovely Martine.

Now we have James Coomarasamay, filling in for Peter Dobbie, who's still away.

World are now airing B.O.T.H. bulletins as well, since the last three hours, covering the Whitney story in the main.

After coverage from Peter Bowes and Alastair Leithead, it's now David Willis thru' the night doing the lives from LA.

Her last album did well, sold more than 2 million worldwide, not bad after almost 3 decades in business. It also gave her a top 5 Uk hit,she appeared on X Factor so she was far from forgotten. RIP the Voice....

Sky's ticker attributes the scoop as, "Sky Sources: ..." - so that tends to suggest its not coming from an agency, rather it may even be one of those paparazzi videographers you see hanging around the gates of celebrity homes.

Its not really surprising that an 18 year old is suffering "stress" about the loss of her mother.

Its barely news and, if anything, its slightly grubby to air it.

Live funeral coverage will be shown on Sky News, E! Entertainment, BET, CNN, Fox News and I imagine BBC News might show it or dip in and out from 4pm-7pm today.

What website is hosting the coverage?

Can't find an official host only lots of news websites saying they will have live video like the BBC's. Imagine the main host of the stream might be something like TMZ.

EDIT: Scratch that - I think the official host is AP (Associated Press) - http://www.livestream.com/aplive is the link given on Whitney's official site.
