Why are white people never interviewed on the BBC anymore?

My only worry is that television news channels are all getting rid of their black presenters, such as the enforced retirement of Trevor and the sidelining of Moira.

Soon, it will only be white faces reading the news on tv. I mean, what on earth is the world coming to??????? It's ridiculous. It's time the channels started having more ethnic minorities behind the anchor desk.

(sic - what a strange thread.....)

I'd like to see Maxine Mawhinney present in a burkha.

I noticed today, during that report on school meals on breakfast, that a very high proportion (if not all) of the interviewees where from a minority background.

Then I cast my mind back to other reports, it seems where there is a minority available they will use them over a white person. Not saying that minorities shouldnt be used, but shouldn't they be used in proportion to their overall bearing on the population???

Sure you've not got the contrast down too far on your telly?

They all look like blackos if you have.

Crank it up to the max and you can have a white-only zone.

Griffin would be proud, gawd bless 'im.

Let's get all the presenters of BBC News to wear burkhas and veils, slap on a 'Season's Greetings" message, or worse "Merry Winterval" and then send it to the Daily Express.

The enforced retirement of Sir Trevor!!! What a load of rubbish. The guy is 67 years old ffs - 2 years past the current United Kingdom male retirement age. Perhaps he doesn't want to continue with news at 10.30 until he drops off his perch.

I must say equally although off topic that although not a fan of itv news generally, I never really liked Sir Trev's presentation - Mark Austin is far better imo.

Don't forget that Sir Trevor still does Tonight With... (albeit for 45 seconds at a time!) and the National TV Awards -- so hasn't disappeared completely Confused

Me neither.

I don't know whether Trevor's always done it, or it's only since he's been getting-on-a-bit, but he seems to emphasise random syllables, which is really irritating IMHO.
