Yes person, yes person
Three containers packed to the required level

One for the government-appointed manager
One for the trans-sexual
And one for the young person who resides in a rural environment.

I think you'll find that "dames" are known as "female impersonators", and "transexuals" are actually "trangendered".

If you'll excuse me I have a wig to back-comb and a black person to interview.

Surprised no one has trotted out that old fave - 'It's political correctness gone mad' yet. Blimey, next thing we know they'll be banning Christmas!

With a thread title like that It's a wonder anyone has given this topic the time of day. It's moderation correctness gone mad!

So which is it? Do they NEVER interview white people as the thread title suggests, or merely a LOW PROPORTION as you claim in the above post?
Do you write for the Daily Mail?
What possible difference does it make in relation to a vox pop on school meals?
Answers on a postcard, marked "looking to start a race issue".
Fool.

1. They interview a very disproportionate number of white people. I use the word 'never' as a figure of speech.
2. No, I am a freelance writer as it happens (usually for the Telegraph or Times... but granted I do write very occasionally for the Mail or Express).
3. Bugger all, it's just not believable that there wasn't a white school pupil in site, clear positive discrimination
4. And as for that postcard anicdote, I was merely trying to start an interesting debate on positive discrimination. I have nothing against minorities, my partner is of Asian decent, but it does annoy me when interwiewees are picked because they are minorities.

Here's an opinion.... who gives a ****? I don't care if the person on my TV screen is black, white, purple, green or yellow with pink spots. Or Russell Brand. Anyone who cares, notices or highlights that a person is a different colour is bordering on racism. I don't care who they are so long as I can understand them.

I don't think the BBC would bother going much further than shepards bush to find school kids to annoy really.

It's not worth their while.

Speaking as an asian, well TVN wanted to spark a debate as to why BBC refuse to pick white people, if anything its discrimination against white people isn't it.

BBC Points West seem to go for white middle class kids. All very plummy and dressed like their parents!

STV Today
Well thankfully stv and BBC Scotland only interview ginger haired kilted numpties... Rolling Eyes
They really should make more of an effort to speak to Tandoori Takeaway owners called Jock and Somalian refugees called Hamish when doing every vox pop though!

It's only discrimination if you notice it. If you ignore it and/or deem it un-noteworthy, then it's just another face on another TV screen talking about something you probably don't care too much about anyway.

It's no wonder the BNP are thriving.

how about a coherent, thought out post arguing the case for [alleged] positive discrimination or arguing that the racial backgrounds of the contributors was probably coincidental.

Sure you can con yourself into seeing discrimination even if there is none but you can't dismiss it out of hand either - it may go on, I don't know (I don't watch bulletins often at all)
