It has? Shocked

I've never understood why they don't use either the "LDN-esque" music like most English Regions do, or the older theme like EMT still does, rather than their horribly bizarre-sounding unique version.

Did anyone see the start of the Points West 50 series last night?

It started with a 1981 BBC1 West Globe and included a number of old PW's titles including those funky 1970's ones. It's also have a few quick vox pops from the likes of David Dimbleby, John Craven and Judith Chalmers.

Poor old Chris Flashers been there 25 years.

Nope. I dont watch it anymore as for too long it has an untalented bunch of muppets with rotten reporters on it. Wheres the talent they had like in the past ? Dimblebey craven they went somewhere in the media. Most ex pw reporters go to other careers now, the useless load of ******* they are.

Memory Lane revisited , i remember the motorway type opening titles from my childhood but very few of those reporters or presenters .
Arlene Sandford , Judith Chalmers , change the hairstyles but nothing else seems to have changed much.

I foolishly tuned in to the top of Points Worst tonight.

Seeing as there was a murder in the middle of Devizes this afternoon and two people (reportedly) arrested, I thought I'd like to catch up on the details.

The murder happened just before three this afternoon, but all PW could manage was about fifteen seconds at twenty to seven, over a "Breaking News" caption and with little or no detail at all. Certainly no details I hadn't already heard from my local contacts.

They gave the impression that it had all "just" happened, rather than it being over three-and-a-half-hour old news and said they would try to get more details for the ten twenty-five edition.

I wonder what the reason for the total ineptitude was this time? Too far from Bristol for the reporter to be able to afford the bus fare; or simply too serious a story for the soft culture of the programme nowadays?

While I'm here, what on earth is that filthy mark right round the lower front of the desk they sit at? Makes the place look like they can't afford a cleaner.

And I thought we were promised new top titles after they went to 16:9? Tonight's still looked completely out of focus.

Sorry, PW, less than one out of ten and definitely NOT improving.

Could do much, much, much better.

I used to like Points West, now it makes me mad.

While I can tolerate Alex Lovell, I cannot be doing with Will Glennon.

Everytime I see him doing the headlines (which seems to be too often for my liking) I switch off or over (and no, not to HTV. That's still worse)

Chris Vacher is only tolerable at best, David Garmston is better, but if Will Glennon is the next best available after those two then things on Whiteladies Road must really be dire.
