I don't suppose there was any interest in BBC Two's new weekly current affairs show, This Week's World, fronted by Emily Maitlis, that launched yesterday afternoon?

Looks like the BBC weren't all that interested, dumping it on BBC Two on Saturday evening.

Maybe because it wasn't promoted well? I didn't even know it existed until this post.

It actually sounds quite interesting, visually, if the BBC Media Centre press release is anything to go by:

Quickly glancing at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b07cg4x8/this-weeks-world-1-growth-and-poverty it looks interesting, and I might watch it fully later.

It is also airing on BBC World.

It's quite different from your usual BBC News-branded show (was it made by the News division?), certainly in terms of its informal style / presentation.

The same slot current affairs series like Correspondent and Scrutiny were in for many years, plus an obvious alternative to what's on BBC1 at that time.
