Dan Corbett referred to a weather front as a "fellow" tonight. Change from a "chappie". Inspired.

A Corbett Classic at the beginning of the forecast on BBCi Right now on UK Forecast.....

"Winter continues to hang around like a unwanted house guest coming to Sunday lunch and just doesnt want to leave still sitting about"

It's happened a few times when, like today, they've brought the forecasters (often Dan) into the studio to talk about something weather-related. I really enjoyed the Spring feature just now, a bit of a bonus for Corbett fans to say the least!

I'd like to see them doing the forecast from the News 24 studio more often. IIRC, didn't they always do it that way in the early days? I think it makes the forecasts feel more part of the channel.

The weather studio was just a stone's throw away from the main N24 studio. This changed of course when it was decided all weather output to come from the weather centre.

What was that on Louise Lear's head this morning?

I know, I know - it was a cream beret, but it was a rhetorical "what was that" in the manner of Eastenders' standard narrative strategy: "Woss going on???"

Liam Dutton - basically he's been doing the same as Chris Fawkes (before he arrived in London) in filling in for regional forecasters...

Indeed - he's become quite a familiar face on Look North when Paul or Lisa have been away, especially at Breakfast.

He's filled in on East Midlands Today several times too.
