Yes, I saw that one too!!! I'm not sure he quite meant to say that, but it's what came out!

Dan's been on top form on News 24 the last couple of evenings - it's definitely the place where you get his very best forecasts, he's more restrained (although still giving a clear AND entertaining presentation) on BBC1.

Another Dan Corbett favourite...

"No, I haven't gone made with my crayons, that is frost!"

The thing that is great about Daniel Corbett is that he never loses his enthusiasm and continues with his phrases linking the weather to actions that we may do (though I doubt anyone will be having a picnic in the park in the middle of winter!). I do like the way that he personifies the wind and air everynow and then. Not many weather forecasters do that!

... and how he refers to weather fronts as "Chappies". Brilliant.

The weather on the back projector on the 6 o'clock news created yellow fog this evening. Looked bloody awful.

I've noticed that the one at Look North in Leeds always looks considerably more legible during the breakfast bulletins rather than on the main 6.30 edition. Whether it's just different lighting levels I'm not sure

Anyone notice a slight resemblance between Lisa Burke on Sky News and the actress Elaine Cassidy?

Can anyone confirm if Sarah Wilmshurst has left the BBC and won't be coming back from maternity leave?

Yes, I've been wondering that since she's been away for about a year now but if you check out the Biographies section on the BBC Weather website bbc.co.uk/weather/bbcweather/forecasters/, it says 'Sarah Wilmshurst 1997-2005' so it doesn't seem likely that she'll be back, shame though 'cos I like Sarah: wonder what she's doing now.

Having said that it doesn't seem likely that Sarah Wilmshurst will be back, just noticed that she's still listed as a weather presenter on the .News 24 website. They have removed Helen Young's profile (Sarah's says last updated November 2005, when Helen left). So perhaps she will be back

Couple of fashion disasters at the beeb. Louise lear has adopted the katie melua look, and nina ridge and elizabeth saary have started wearing the same maternity dresses.
