So more than likely a cosmetic makeover to the existing graphics. They've only around for little under a year (replacing the separate Carlton & GMG regional, and ITV national weather's own graphics) so I can't imagine ITV paying out for anything more. Rolling Eyes

Anybody seen Tori Good's wedding in this week's Hello! magazine?

So I notice that there's been a drastic change over at ITV...There just appears to be a bit of a logo change. Or am I mistaken?

The weather on the back projector on the 6 o'clock news created yellow fog this evening. Looked bloody awful.

Agreed, it looked terrible. Poor Susan Powell looked somewhat embarassed, but for some reason didn't issue an apology.

They really need to start doing the 6 weather from the Weather studio - why do they have to do it on the projector screen anyway? It doesn't seem to be necessary for any of the other bulletins.

It always looks bad but today was ridiculous!

Because having a chummy, pally, aren't-we-all-friends appearance is more important than the weather graphics. Apparently.

Would it not be possible, as a compromise, to key the graphics onto the screen? Make the screen produce a blue/green backdrop and work from that, the opening and close shots could be projected (start with the weather open slide, end with a "6" slide to keep it tidy). That way the graphics would be clear and the presenter in the studio.

Thank goodness someone else saw the yellow fog - I thought my kitchen portable was developing problems!

Also very glad to see T&W back, but I bet I still can't send a pm to him/her. Hmm.

On the weather topic: apparently on Radio 4 at lunchtime, wintry showers were forecast for Norn Irn for tomorrow. At 18:30, the forecast was "unusally mild for January - 12 or even 13 degrees."

As they say in Eastenders, "Woss going on?"

As to keying on a back projector... well it's certainly do-able, but if the colour was as far out as it was tonight it would have been completely unusable rather than just looking crap.

On the NI weather, the forecast for the last few days has been consistent so I have no idea where R4 got a wintry showers forecast!

I hope I've got the right thread for discussing Anglia Weather, specifically. Although it isn't called that anymore, just to cause yet more confusion.

It might have been my eyes playing tricks on me, but I noticed tonight the moon phases graphic read simply "Moo". Laughing

That's one thing with the new look itv that's very rushed and horrible, but I presume they're working on it. A logo without a horrible blue bar behind it, and teal instead of yellow and blue, and it'll be fine.

I utterly hate ITV weather now that the logo is all screwed up!
