Sorry if this has already been mentioned (been away for a few days and too many posts to catch up on)... Anyway, I caught an Isobel Lang forecast on News 24 a couple of days ago which began with a new opening screen. It had a pale blue background and what looked like a large droplet / globe on the right hand side. I think someone posted something similar a little while back.

A few seconds into the forecast, she had to walk off to the left to press a button to "get the right graphics on". Looks like she'd been practising with the new graphics and had forgotten to switch back to the existing ones!

but of course it would be great to see Dan Corbett doing the first new-style forecast.

I can just imagine the ending - 'and that's the new look weather for now'.

That image (which is on page 3 of this thread), is the one that's on the Project Storm mouse mats and fridge magnets.

Yep, that's the one. Couldn't remember where it had been posted. I'm not quite sure what the white blob inside the sphere is supposed to be though.

Looks like a distorted cloud to me.

It looks to me like the polar ice caps all though I'm sure it will be a distorted cloud. Either way I'm not particularly fond of it.

Lets hope this isn't a sign of what the new look clouds on the actual weather maps will look like.

I've only seen a few screen grabs of the new stuff but from what I've seen the new clouds certainly don't look like that. These graphics are different from what you're used to and I'm sure some people will hate them just for that reason but I know the team behind them are hoping you will grow to like them.

Umm. I actually grown to quite like the current set, although as long as the new package serves to purpose then I'm sure they'll grow on me...

Well the main thing is that they are much more 3D that the current flat look while remaining clear.
