Let the Crazy Frog do the prime time forecasts to make it go with the new look maps

I've got a better idea. The main premise is that you f*ck off.

That is very naughty of you

It's generally considered OK when the person it's aimed at is a cretin. If you're not going to post something that's not **** then don't post anything at all. I mean really , how is a comment like that constructive?

Is it really considered "OK" to tell someone else on this forum to "f*** off" ?

And from someone who thinks Mary Whitehouse is a "moral lighthouse" - unless (as I really do hope) this is meant in a tongue-in-cheek way.

1. Congratulations on spotting the wittiness of my sig
2. When it's so clearly *banality* confronting us, I think it's completely jjustifiable to tell them where to go.

Anyway back to the weather!

Interesting final comment before the 12pm news by Rob McElwee. "There's more on the website.... OBVIOUSLY" This is true, you get isobars, wind speeds etc on there! Razz

Yeah they do seem to be pushing the website alot a the minute... They mentioned it last night after then 10.
Nice to see the warm charts this morning, but I'm still up the creek on my regional forecast - night last the whole thing froze and then someone fastforwarded so fast the presenter stood back and apologised.

Someone mentioned there was a mock up of a green weather map, does anyone know whwere this is?

On Matt Taylor's overnight forecasts, there were temperature colour charts, cloud satellites, isobars and even fronts put on the map

Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to look through my VHS/DVD collection and see what weather forecasts I can come up with. I know that I have plenty which just happened to be recorded at the side of various programmes that I taped/recorded.

I've already got the placeholder page up, with ONE image - note that even this one image that I have put up as a starter shows a LOT more than a whole 30-second fly-over animated map could show.

The URL is:

Instead of those horible 2D maps on the BBC Weather website, why not have a flash version? This would be a welcome development because people could click on the place of interest and zoom in.

Just like Google Maps.

google maps is a rather complex app that would cause some of the older browsers that the BBC insist on listing as "supported" explode.

Plus their directions are hopeless - it wanted me to turn right onto the bypass on my way to work yet the bypass is on a bridge about 20ft higher than the road i would be on.

Two things, firstly I notice that when they are doing the pre-weather banter on Look North the glass globe thing will be frozen really badly until they are ready to start

Secondly, with most of the forecast being maps and sequences with continuous movement and no points where they actually hold on something, how much is controlled by the weather presenter's clicker?

more weather trouble on bbc mids, the system was suggesting it would be 17c in gloucester at 5am, whilst it was 12c everywhere else in the midlands. shefali told us to ignore it

I don't have a problem with the new BBC Weather Graphics, they are the best the BBC have ever had. Modern at last.
