I couldn't find an Atlantic pressure chart online earlier - it was only the UK map, which is pointless as it doesn't show a large enough area to show any weather system in context.
This is what I thought at first but what use to be on the UK page is now found on the World pages here
It will surely need to be quite seriously tweaked and more content added, otherwise this will just look like expensive change for change's sake, with a lot of what was actually useful lost in the transition.
To pick up on an earlier question, what did BBC News do for their daytime summaries?
Also, I know at least a couple of regions used to reduce their screen and have weather info in-vision on their breakfast bulletins. Were these dropped?
ITV Teletext has a feature on this, it says a lot of people are not happy with the new Beeb graphics, and I would have to agree, they've turned the world a horrendous turdy brown colour, too be honest the new weather graphics remind me of...

Although I agree with your sentiments, there really is no need for that repulsive link. How old are you?
I am sorry, I am pissed off with these gfxs, anyway I should show maturity, I've taken it off, but at least you get the picture, what I was also trying to say it's that they shouldn't use brown, anyway I am 25 BTW.
I first saw this weather this morning at breakfast and just caught a bit of it at the end of the 10pm news.
First impressions were - what the hell have they done?
The brown map looks really awful - and as I sat slightly bleary eyed this morning watching the weather I had no idea what the dark patches over the land were until the presenter said they were (clouds? Even now I am confused as to what it represents).
They had ditched the iconic instantly-recognisable symbols for something that would be much harder to understand to the untrained eye. I think all the zooming in and out and up and down the country on the 3D map was a bit nauseating for the first thing in the morning - the old design was so much clearer and instantly recognisable compared to the new one.
They say it's clearer weather from the BBC, but it certainly didn't rub off on me first thing this morning. I'm sure if you'd done a voxpop in the street and asked people what some of the things on the maps meant compared to the old ones, I'd wager that most people would be fairly confused by the new maps.

You were very quick! I'd since seen that you'd removed it and quickly deleted the post - sorry! Thanks for removing the link though.
Lets stay united in hating this new weather presentation
Like a main road without signs...
Like a driving lesson without an instructor...
Like a road map without symbols...
Like a new product without instructions...
...to the average person.
BBC has thrown away its globe ident and now has thrown away its weather symbols. There isn't much left of the BBC now. Very poor.
