As you all seem to only be fascinated by lists of names in this thread, how about a few more?

Charles Breslin, 62,

David Powell, 50,

Garry Jenkins, 39,

Phillip Hill, 45.

Terrible tragedy and my heartfelt condolences to the families. Mining clearly remains as one of the most dangerous professions to exist. I can only comment on how BBC World and CNN covered the story. Given the "size" of the story in Global terms, it was given only a small allocation on these channels, as indicated in my post above.

Edit: removed last line of my post as don't want to get into an argument with other members under the banner of this particular thread.

Silver Nemesis
Here in Wales, ITV Wales had a very strong programme at 6, particularly as the press conference was happening while they were on air (they took it live).

BBC Wales were perhaps a little more analytical in their coverage at 6:30, though they had broadcast live the earlier conference just after 1:30 - with some breaking news straps that featured the original 'BBC Wales' red 'tab' from the 2008 graphics set (later updated to read 'BBC Wales Today'), and a signed recap of the news.

Both BBC and ITV Wales had two presenters on location at 6/6:30, and the late bulletin on BBC One Wales will be extended to half an hour at 10:25 according to the EPG.
