I like the music on Newyddion I can't tell if it's an in house mix of national and Newyddion or a new composition, but I like it.

what can we expect from Look North Newcastle?

Nothing probably, though they may try doing something, only for it to turn out even more ghastly than Reporting Scotland.
They don't even know how to report the news... and have made the programme's content an extension of Inside Out. The set design is the least of my concerns.

I quite liked their 1999 look - well, the soft area and the bulletin set anyway (the desk area is the same now, but redder) - the broom cupboard bulletin studio was scrapped soon after they went all red.

Perhaps they should try a more neutral look than other regions... but I don't imagine they'll think of anything tasteful... they have little imagination or taste on Look North. A recent 'Special' on Hunting Bans saw an awful combination of tacky overlay graphics and dining room chairs in the 'soft' area, no more of that please.

Oh come on... if people from the North complained on internet forums such as this every time a Southerner insulted them there would be messages of disgust left right and centre.

I'm sure what is meant is that the set could have been designed by some South Easterner with little idea of the difference between a set regarding a fast paced intercity News programme versus a programme, possibly with a more 'cosy' feel required regarding a mostly rural country.

My apologies for being sensitive. I just find being referred to as a ***** a real insult whatever region of the country you're from, i'm not easily offended but i really think he/she could have chosen their words more carefully.

I think the Newyddion is a brand new mix by David Lowe. Wales Today on the other hand doesn't sound like his work.

I also find it offensive being branded a sheep-sh*gger by people in the southeast of England. Works both ways, my dear. But if you wish to look up the word in the dictionary, you will find it does have an entirely different meaning.

I'll just leave it to you to decide which meaning I intended to use.

Thankyou for your reply.
I've looked up the word in the dictionary and it does have various other meanings, none of which makes sense of your reference to " some ***** from the s.e". I must be missing something. Judging by your last post you obviously meant something entirely different. Feel free to correct me if you wish but much to the relief of some forum members i will say no more in this topic about it.

I don't like the new studio at all. What's the point of those out-of-place blue blocks? Why has the backdrop of Cardiff bay been made smaller (whereas it should have been made bigger!), and why is the background now pink instead of that nice dark red we had before?

Oh, and why isn't there a new dragon on the screens in the studio? The studio and titles were obviously both designed by some ***** in south-east England! Rolling Eyes

Well also, why haven't they been given a longer film of the Bay background yet -- it keeps jumping all the time. The new assembly building isn't going to go away is it, so perhaps a new background view is needed.

I noticed earlier that the bit after the bit with the headlines [you know the bit I mean] starts with a dragon now, and I'm just certain it didn't on Monday. Mind you, it's the wrong way round which is bad luck and definitely linked to demonism.

So yes I agree it could only be the mistake of southeast fascists.
