Titles

They obviously ran out of ideas for the music. They had to use a crap version of The World titles.

Shame they ran out of money after doing just half of the set! The main bit's really good but the sofa area is exactly the same just with a lick of white paint. That screen in that area with it's tubular surround is awful, they need to put some silver bits like on the main screen and have a backlit translucent red surround.

Graphics and music good though. Bit of a cock up going back to Jamie at the end with him discussing what the national headlines should be.

I can just about see the dragon on one of the ribbons! I dont really like the end part of the tiles, WALES TODAY and BBC NEWS WALES. Rest of the titles are cool though, and why doesnt that globe start with the UK, rather than North America!

yep, the dragon on the ribbon is a nice tough. Not keen on the titles though. They are a bit overlong.

No it's not, it's rubbish. You want a big dragon on a screen during the whole programme.

Newyddion has indeed been given titles like the UK news, only about eight times longer.

Nice to see BBC Cymru branding return, the foreign news is overall much nicer than WT too -- and we get to see the tea trolley pottering about in the newsroom.

To be honest I'm suprised Wales Today still comply with the whole "BBC News <insert nation>" or "<Regional Name> BBC News" branding when many of the other regions don't do that anymore.

Anyhoo, nice titles & studio, haven't made my mind up about the music though, and the lack of highly visible dragon is dissapointing.

Thats rather nice all round I think. I love the titles, VERY like some peopls mocks here, the music is a nice mix of old and new and it does look better in white.

On the whole it's a thumbs up.

The main part of the set is nice, but the sofa area doesn't look to different to the last look.

Like the white titles for Wales Today - and just spotted the subtle inclusion of the dragon. The main headline bed is good too, but don't like the thunderclaps - they just don't fit and it be better without.

Agree the "BBC News Wales" should also be dropped from the end.


As for Newyddion - nice astons, but it's a shame about the titles. It have been better for Wales Today to go with black and Newyddion have the white to at least make Newyddion on S4C look different to the main BBC News programmes.

The Newyddion background is quite nice as well - and the inset windows not to bad as well.

Shame you've credited the titles to BBC Points West ;(

The dragon might have looked better in the globe, as wales doesnt look quite right. The only way would have a zoomed in globe to Wales taking up most of the screen. Studio is nice though!

The music is a great remix I think. The rest is a bit too national news looking for me.

Can't believe they made Jamie come in on the Saturday morning just to report on the progress in changing the set... and in his suit too! (Or does he work Saturdays at BBC Wales?)
