The Newyddion music sounds like the work of David Lowe, the Wales Today music sounds like its been done elsewhere.
DL composed for both programme relaunches
Really? Hmmm...
You can hear elements of 'World' in the Newyddion music, towards the end of the opening sequence. I am suprised to find out his did the mix of Wales Today - really does sound in-house.

I think Newyddion's new theme is quiet good, but like the national news' theme, it seemed to lack something. It seemed a bit depthless, for want of a better word.
Just out of curiosity I mixed the two themes together - a big improvement IMV

(I think this is more relevant here than in mocks, but correct me if I'm wrong)

Is it just me who's hearing News 24 through when they're mixed?

Check out what happens at the end of last night's Newyddion.
Gary Owen signs off, end titles play, BBC Cymru caption goes up, comes down and the camera still rolls on. Scroll to about 26.15 to see Owen dress down and unplug himself.

As the online Newyddion is on a
BBC
website, it therefore shows only the BBC-produced material, not any S4C material (e.g. the S4C clock/ident leading into the programme).
Therefore, if someone at BBC Cymru "presses the record button" early/late, you get some of the pre- / post-show material online.
So, this is perfectly usual, and happens often/virtually-always.

Absolutley fantastic music for wales, new and fresh. I too question whether this is Lowe's work. It sound very different rather than a variation, much more dancy. The end clashes seem more reminiscent of the old news tunes or like a mock for a tv program.
The tiltles are great but a little wooden compared to the national. I am unsure about plain white, perhaps an orange tone in the background like one of The Mock mans' mocks would be better.
The nationals seem to be smoother and slower with a more natural path.
This is BBC News presentation at its best. Is this what we are to expect from the nationals in the future?
