Pardon my slight ignorance in certain matters.

But I would have thought screens like that get recycled into another studio or is it cheaper to buy and install new parts? Just that I guess I am still thinking of the Liquid News / 7 O'Clock News / Points West type of thing.

Probably have Wales Today and the map burnt in...

Thanks. Imagine watching TV and all you are seeing is the following, "BBC News" Box / "BBC Wales Today" / "The Map".

Sounds like your average day on BBC One Wales to me...

Well we have previously discussed the possibility of them recycling the Wales Today set and concluded that, if they do, the most likely contenders would surely be Bristol or Southampton. But both can only fit about 2/3rds of the Cardiff set - so (if they do recycle) you'd probably end up with the soft set (as it is larger and has a fuller arc) + 1 plasma off to one side.

Only elements of the Wales Today set that are on there are two of the three 103" plasmas.

What lot are they?

Lots 2156 and 2157.

Ooh, it’s only £10! Might go for it - that would look brilliant on my living room wall.

Rebecca John had a standing desk for tonight’s bulletin. Quite new

I think that is in the green screen studio usually used by Newyddion.

Might just be me, but I think it looks like chromakey.

Alfie Mulcahy and Jory gave kudos

The depth feels missing in the close up shots.

I've noticed a few of Newyddion's weekend bulletins used this studio as the bulletins were close or clashing with Wales Today's weekend show. Probably the same reason but alternated this time. Newyddion was on at 18:45 on Sunday and Wales Today was at 18:50

The desk reflection not reflecting the backdrop is the giveaway that it is.

The desk reflection not reflecting the backdrop is the giveaway that it is.

The desk reflection was always the giveaway on the ITV News Channel back in 2004 and 2005, when they were kicked out of the main ITV News studio due to national bulletin rehearsals and moved into the studio next door, which simply had a desk plonked in the middle of a green screen world. The reflection on the desk, and the desk's brighter lights was the giveaway.

I wonder why the reflection was always seen in the main ITV News green screen studio, but not in their other green screen set? I am not technical at all, could someone who knows explain.

Thank you.
