That'll be Mr. Jake Humphreys.

Jake Humphrey doing Question Time? That'd be like asking David Dimbleby to present Formula 1! Not something I'd wish to see. Cant see JH doing QT in a million years. I would have thought Jeremy Vine, Andrew Neil, Nick Robinson and Jon Sopel would all be more likely contenders.

My money's on Jeremy Vine. They can't just wheel him out during elections, he needs something more consistent. I've always thought he'd be excellent at the helm of QT.

Yeah, it's not as if he does anything else for the BBC...

Paxman is an interesting shout - QT used to be Robin Day's gig and Paxo replaced him as interviewer on the Election programmes.

Although equally Peter Sissons used to do it so Huw, George, Sophie, etc are equally valid suggestions on that basis.

Paxman would be spoiling for a fight every week.

Id still watch though.

Knowing the BBCs current scheme of things it'll probably end up on a rotation or with 'guest' presenters much like other BBC programmes which have stopped having a single presenter in recent years (HIGNFY, NMTB ...)

I have to agree with that - Paxman is today's Robin Day, and he has a clear, gravitas-filled voice that all three of Question Time's presenters have or had.

Let's not forget that Sissons was the first replacement for Robin Day in 1992, and was in a similar role at ITN before that.

QT is hardly in the same category as those programmes. I suspect it will be a Jeremy (my money would be on Paxman).

So is this the only operation still active at TVC?

Pretty much. There are some network guys lurking about somewhere, and some offices being used for the closure project teams, but otherwise it's a bit of a ghost town around here.
