Apart from the titles and on-screen graphics, the coverage from Millbank looks SD to me.
well, it would be - the studio is still SD! The straps look decidedly SD to me too - I think they're being generated by the Millbank gallery too; and Jeremy Vine's bit from ITN is coming down an SD line.

I'm not sure I want to see Vince Cable in HD anyway...

I thought the elections were going to come from Television Centre - remember it being mentioned when News moved in March; did the plans change?
I was slightly misinformed about how much it would be used - but it is playing a part. Millbank isn't particularly well connected, so all of the OBs are being downlinked in (and in some cases sent by IP to) TVC, where an area called MCX is acting as a technical hub and switching out the required ones down the Millbank OS lines.

Interesting to hear. Out of interest, is there any reason why they can't do this at Broadcasting House?

I think it's just a simple case of the connectivity not being there yet.

Surely it's about time the sorted out the Millbank studio/gallery and upgraded it.

I know it's kept analogue so they can get it to air in an emergency quickly. But with modern day digital technology, this shouldn't be a big problem anymore.

It looks more dated that TV centre was.

Btw were the beeb expecting the Lib Dems to get loads of votes? Their count box on screen is longer/larger than the others.

I thought that, but I think it's actually the same size. It's just that LD is two letters compared to three letters for the others.

Anyone watching Vote 2013? Is Huw doing well?

I watched it, and he was doing a good job at hosting. He managed to keep an eye on graphics popping up on screen, so if something happened he always confirmed it if necessary. To be honest, he was never going to be bad considering how well he handles the 5 O'Clock News Hour on BBC News.

I assume it's expected that Huw will take over the Elections once Dimbleby has gone - Question Time Though?

That'll be Mr. Jake Humphreys.

Jake Humphrey doing Question Time? That'd be like asking David Dimbleby to present Formula 1! Not something I'd wish to see. Cant see JH doing QT in a million years. I would have thought Jeremy Vine, Andrew Neil, Nick Robinson and Jon Sopel would all be more likely contenders.
