That's the new BBCPQ canteen overlooking the Clyde. Real windows
They kept referring to it as the canteen, but I believe the management would prefer you called it the restaurant. Smile

It's got an outside terrace too - which, inexplicably, has windows, but no roof. Those with a basic knowledge of the climate of Glasgow will be able to see the folly of this.

The wind and rain in Glasgow tends to move in a horizontal manner, so a roof is not necessary, but walls are! Wink

on the News Channel now, Jon Sopel anchoring from Westminster - and the headline sequence also had a bit from Tim Reid at Holyrood. Hadn't seen him before, but apparently he's one of BBC Scotland's Westminster correspondents, alongside David Porter.

it does seems Lib dem vote are going to snp but also Labour in Edinburgh.

Good. I would like to see Mike Pringle go in Southern and Cole-Hamilton is far too smug to win Central.

The SNP of course will do okay on the regional vote too as they have completely misrepresented it on the ballot paper - trying to make out it is somehow a vote for First Minister - when it isn't at all.

Yet that has been sorted out this time with SNP half way down the page, At least Scottish Socialist are above the Socialist ( yawn) labour party.

its now saying SNP could take all seats in aberdeenshire, SNP and Lab could get rid of lib dems and tories in Edinburgh, expect recounts tonight

Told you there were heading for meltdown but the lib dems do look to be losing more seats... this morning. its does look like sad night when the far left party have Fallen from grace, there getting very little

I'm not sure you did say Labour were heading for meltdown. No-one predicted this. Simply incredible what has happened.

The Lib Dems finally being punished for all their years of saying whatever it takes to get a whiff of power - possibly now on track for as few as four seats. Labour truly demolished in constituencies, and even with a decent level of support on the lists it's a humiliating defeat.

I must strongly disagree that Labour is a far left party - far from it. They are left of centre in Scotland, but with the SNP further left than they are (see removal of private sector in NHS, scrapping PFI/PPP schemes, free prescriptions, free tuition for Scottish students). The SNP has clearly offered what Labour should have been (with the exception of the independence referendum) and have managed to persuade the most staunch Labour supporters to switch to them - Scotland still laps up the left wing agenda it would seem.

I'm not a nationalist, but personally found the lack of credible alternatives on offer at this election really surprising. My worry now is the dearth of talent that will be present in this fourth parliament - I'm guessing there will be more speeches written on cue cards and confused looks by members as to how to vote. Eugh.

Pres wise - didn't think much of the BBC canteen. Kinda reminded me of the Cowcaddens foyer STV used to present bits of Scotsport from back in the day.

The BBC Scotland programme is and has been excellent. The big desk works well and the multiple guests on air simultaneously has helped greatly.

So BBC2 kicking off with their on-off coverage of the day. I think the lack of exit polls, lack of coverage of the declarations and lack of results says everything we need to know about the AV debate. Not even those who soak up every little bit of every election are interested.

BBC Wales using the same studio as last time - and very nice it is too. Had to laugh though about all the fuss they made of their "biggest TV ever" when in comparison to the usual national efforts it looks like a 14 inch portable!

ITV Wales kicks off at 12.30pm - though disapointing they didn't bother with an overnight show. This afternoon though coverage on BBC1, BBC2, ITV1 and S4C most of the afternoon in Wales.

Is BBC Alba doing anything in Scotland?

Surely it shows that a) there isn't an exit poll (for whatever reason, I doubt it's distinerest, probably cost as they aren't cheap) and b) the count of the results does not commence until 4pm this afternoon?

ITV Wales seem to be using the normal news studio although they have a seperate interview area opposite the normal set, seen on the overheard shot at the start. Jonathan Hill and Andrea Benfield presenting, for an hour until the 1330 news then back on at 1355 until 1500.

I don't recall bits of Scotsport coming from the Cowcaddens foyer. Was that in Arthur's day, or Jim W's, or Jim Delahunt's latter era? I missed that completely.

Back on topic: did Breakfast eventually have any of their presenters out on location this morning? Just curious.
