It's a shame what happened to TV Breizh for example in France, which is now nothing more than a paywall channel showing US cop shows and TF1's French crime back catalogue.


Here is an excerpt from a bilingual TV Breizh newscast from 2005, when it was still a Brittany-focused channel -- the anchor is using French, while the report is in Breton (and the lower-thirds are in both languages):

Thank you guys for answering my question on the regional languages of France and also showing some examples! And you know what even though this upload is not about French regional languages it's still quite good, this is another news bulletin on Canal+ but it was recorded on the 4th of November 1994.....which was the 10th birthday of Canal+ itself! And the lucky newsreader on that special day was Bruce Toussaint (who has later worked for France Télévisions and now works for BFM TV and hosts it's own programme on Europe 1!) Enjoy!

In New Zealand, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake prompted a tsunami warning to be issued. The warning was cancelled shortly before 5am local time. However, an 8.0 quake has just occurred further north. As a result, fresh warnings have been issued. As a result, both TVNZ Breakfast and The AM Show (which started early to cover the first warning) are staying on air.

It looks like TVNZ Breakfast will be staying on air to provide updates on the Tsunami Warning. Idk what they're doing over on The AM Show.

The AM Show will be handing over to Newshub at 11am local time (in a few minutes). I wouldn't be surprised if TVNZ does the same.

EDIT: TVNZ Breakfast staying on air for another hour, before handing over to 1 News at Midday.

EDIT 2: Nevermind. 1 News Special now on air.
