International News Presentation: Past and Present

It's a striking design. It'll be interesting to see how the studio gets used once it all goes live.

At 5:45, the correspondent sits in a CNN newsroom in Atlanta.

CNN owned a stake in n-tv from 1992 until 2006 when they were bought out by RTL

And NTV and RTL are still CNNs preffered local partner in Germany. I can destinctly remember they took a dirty RTL feed for the German elections 2013.

One of Georgia's largest commercial radio stations, Pirveli Radio use both BBC and ITV News' theme music for their news intro and TOH jingle: https://sndup.net/3p7h

I've heard the BBC News theme used on Turkmen state TV (don't ask why I was being subjected to Turkmen state TV), but that takes the cake.

I heard the Strictly Come Dancing theme used for a radio ad in Vermont for a local Tyre and Exhaust centre !

(Or I should say Tire and Muffler center )

I've monitored Turkmen state TV, and I heard a lot of familiar things You can watch all of their channels live in high definition here: https://turkmentv.gov.tm/

At nighttime Altyn Asyr (Golden Age - the main channel) broadcasts live pictures from the showcase districts of Ashgabat, it is very cool and relaxing.

I'm particularly fond of the Ýaşlyk fish tank. Aşgabat channel also has the night-time scenes - I think they're different ones.

You can occasionally stumble across the odd live Premier League or Serie A football match on Türkmenistan Sport if that's your thing and you can put up with the Turkmen commentator (a beautiful language it is not), but they don't publish a schedule anywhere so it's a bit hit-and-miss!

Last week, Telenoche , the main evening newscast on Argentina's El Trece, launched a new look, a refreshed set, and the return of a familiar musical theme (2007 version here), to coincide with the debut of Luciana Geuna, which replaced María Laura Santillan, who co-presented the bulletin for 16 years:

Also the Telediario music for 2021 was done by the same guy behind the 2014, 2012 and 2008 themes, Josep Sanou.
He's obviously ditched the old melody and tried something new and more serious in sound.
