I absolutely love this opening - and the backdrop for the presenter looks like it would be suited to Breakfast in the summer... who was it who wrote the BBC World music package from 97-99?
IIRC, George Fenton composed the vast majority of BBC music prior to David Lowe. I suspect it was probably Fenton.
By the way, that particular music package was used until April 2000, when BBC World re-launched with the Lowe music. It was only BBC ONE News and News 24 that re-launched in 1999.
