An ancient station ID still in use used for E/I Programming since the late 90s on WBAL.

And a CBS This Morning Special Report open. The end credits were about over and John Dickerson said they were going to pause to bring the rest of the network in for the Theresa May / Trump presser at Chequers.

Locally WJZ seems to think 79°F / 26° C is very hot. Here’s a quick station ID - networks often schedule breaks with 5” tacked on for station identification. Their logo in the right is not quite legal as it doesn’t have the -TV suffix as (I’m paraphrasing here) that according to the FCC any station without a suffix that has a same call sign FM or TV channel is assumed to be AM. The AM call sign is the only one that doesn’t need a suffix. The real legal ID is the one in the bottom that animates on.

Time/Temp IDs fell out of the wayside for a while but now stations see this as a sponsorship opportunity. Immediately following this video was an ad with the message for the sponsorship of Time/Temp for an air conditioning company. Some stations have the sponsors logo on screen with a message “Today’s time/temp is brought to you by x (followed by what they do)” and may feature a 30” commercial or another.

To be fair, us brits think anything above 20 is "very hot"!

That’s right you guys don’t have air conditioners. To this region it’s pleasant. But I think they were expecting it to be hotter either when they spotter the spot into automation. It was above 90°until about 2PM with the heat index (factors in the humidity) temperature above 100°- but a severe thunderstorm popped up around that time near the official weather station for Baltimore - BWI Airport*.

*Mini rant whose idea was it to put many of official regions weather stations at airports. BWI is about 15 miles from the center of Baltimore. In Washington DC it’s at Reagan National which is right across the Potomac in Arlington, Virginia. Things like this affect official records as they have moved over the years. According to The Washington Post the official measurements for DC like the high temp are the highest in the region and for snow totals the lowest in the region. At DCA and BWI the stations are probably less than 500 Feet from the runway.

Isn't that more because the airport needed a weather station for their own use, and then other services, instead of setting up their own one in a more representative location, just decided to use the airport data as 'good-enough'.

Interestingly here in the UK, there's still many official weather stations on the site of former airfields, literally in the middle of nowhere.

I looked into it. It’s likely because the FAA and a multitude of federal agencies run/use it (however the operations and maintenance seem to be the NWS). Also of the official equipment needs to be far away from buildings and airports offer plenty of land.
