Looks like a fan-made one, I guess? Okay, you said three channels. So they have LCI, BFM and i-Télé... Does France 24 count?

Well, I know LCI is backed by TF1, which company backs BFM and i-Télé?

Yes, it's a fan-made montage, but it includes bits and pieces of various BFM TV promos.

France 24, while available to French viewers via cable and satellite, is meant primarily for viewers outside the country, and isn't carried on France's TNT ( DTT) platform.

Well, I know LCI is backed by TF1, which company backs BFM and i-Télé?

i-Télé is backed by Canal+ (Vivendi-owned), while BFM TV is owned by NextRadioTV, a relatively new media group previously known mostly for its news/talk and business radio stations.

And speaking of i-Télé, the news channel refreshed its look today. Lonodal.com has caps and videos, and will add more throughout the day:

BTW, here's a clip of BFM Business, BFM TV's sister station devoted to business news:

As mentioned here a long time ago, in 1977 a group of Communist aerospace unionists (protesting New York's ban on Concorde flights) occupied the studios of TF1 in Paris just as the headline sequence of the 8PM national news was getting underway.

This report about the studio invasion aired the following day -- it shows how the protesters startled the anchor, how the director then cut to a slide, and how the negotiations continued behind the scenes:

Last Sunday, it was one of the occasions the RTP bulletins usually broadcast from Porto came from their headquarters in Lisbon.
One of them was RTP Informação's 24 Horas , which, as I've mentioned a few pages back, came not from the RTP Informação desk in the set, but from the RTP1 desk (as I've said, the name "24 Horas" came from the defunct late bulletins on RTP1).

Here's the RTP Informação desk, for comparison, as seen on an afternoon bulletin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS0kzAQjZM8

A fantastic compilation of American TV news intros and promos from the 1950s to the 1980s -- mostly national, with some local ones as well. Cronkite, Murrow, Chancellor, etc. -- they're all here:

The compilation includes clips of Peter Jennings co-anchoring the news from ABC News' London studios back when the network had a triple-anchor format.

FINLAND -- Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you: the new headquarters of Nelonen News.

http://www.teraselementti.fi/dms/referenssikuvat/images/julkisivu/sanoma/sanoma_01.jpg

And no - before you ask, that is not VR. That is real. This is where I've been lurking for the last months to get a sneak peak at the channel's new news studio. In my last post I reported that there were Sony 3D cameras taken to the studio by the construction staff - now I've been seeing awful lots of greenscreen going to the building. I guess that's what the staff refer to as "British top-notch technology"; after all, ITN's Studio 2 (national news, London Tonight) is the largest greenscreen studio in Europe. I really wonder how the 3D set is going to end up looking on air...

EDIT: Earlier today I was trying to sketch up a post featuring some of the old looks of Nelonen's news with accompanying video clips, but I stopped writing after looking at a VT from March 2000. At the end of it I found something interesting - the late news intro with a piece of music some of you Welshmen here might recognise. I have to get myself a VCR converter so I can up the clip to Metropol.

Thanks for the pic! The building looks great. Can't wait to see what it looks like on-air.
