The graphics are alright, but the set is weird. Though I would agree with you that it's pretty classy for a Tribune station!
Here's video of WFOR. Nothing unexpected except for the weird logo.

I do indeed! Thanks for putting all of this together; it's really interesting.
I'm glad that the I Love Chicago signature is back on WBBM! I'm not a huge fan of these graphics, but the shot of Chicago at the beginning is a really effective view of what I consider one of the world's greatest cities.
As one of the YouTube comments pointed out, it looks very European!
I thought you'd get a kick out of this, WWU.

WBBM in Chicago switched to the new graphics about two weeks ago and also switched to the new version of the CBS Enforcer theme.

The only stations that haven't switched to this are KPIX in San Francisco (but it seems likely they'll switch), WCCO in Minneapolis, KDKA in Pittsburgh, WJZ in Baltimore, and WBZ in Boston, who debuted their own new graphics this week:

Here is an interesting compilation showing the graphics used by ORF in Austria
before
and
after
a complete redesign by British designer Neville Brody in 1992:

And another clip shows what the news looked like after his redesign:

Among other things, Brody designed the current look of The Times newspaper.

Looks very ITV, when they had the blue and yellow look.
The logo itself is definitely a rip-off of the old ITV1 logo.

ORF's on-screen look from 1993 looks like it was designed in late 2000s. But the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (its current English name) now needs Neville's touch once again. As well as the look of ORF Sport Plus and TW1 and logo of some regional radio stations, the entire website of ORF needs a complete facelift. (Neville Brody recently designed a new graphic system for the BBC website.)
Edit: By the way, I like current ZIB graphics. And do you know a name of the Gotham-like font, released before Gotham, that ORF uses?

Is this it? http://www.typogabor.com/neville-brody/images/013_NevilleBrodyWork.jpg
The caption identifies it as Typeface Six by Neville Brody.
It's not the font used for news graphics, but it does appear to be the font used for ORF's logos, idents, and some promos.

Not only does the layout look like something from the 1990s, it is from the 1990s -- it hasn't really changed since then.
Indeed. It was very much ahead of its time. In fact, many elements survive to this day.
^ Oh god yes, ORF's website is a total embarrassment. It's so late 90s it's unreal. The broadcaster has suffered quite badly from the recession however so don't expect an overhaul any time soon.
