Possible Big News at CBS NEWS.
There is a possibilty that Norah O'Donnell could potentially replace Jeff Glor on the CBS Evening News. The broadcast has really dropped off in the ratings under Glor. Variety Magazine is reporting that O'Donnell would broadcast from CBS DC in stead of the HQ in NY.
Personally I never liked Glor as lead anchor. He didnt project gravitas IMO. I do like Norah O'Donnell's delivery. She is a consummate professional and handles breaking news very well. Glor just seemed out of his depth. His deliver just seemed off to me. It will be interesting to if this happens.

Well, now that they failed to lure George Stephanopoulos away from ABC, they might as well try this. It was a big mistake to replace Scott Pelley and now they got what they deserved - even less viewers and no hip youngsters tuning in. CBS News is in such a mess....

We’re told that in an effort to entice him to CBS News, execs offered Stephanopoulos Jeff Glor’s anchor chair on “CBS Evening News” — often considered the most prestigious role in TV news — and a plum gig on “60 Minutes.”

Glor’s only been in the job for a year, but as Page Six has previously reported, network execs have been considering replacing him for months amid sinking ratings and newsroom strife. At the time CBS denied that Glor’s job was in jeopardy.

All of this is happening just as there's a a management change within the news division, as famed producer Susan "Z" Zirinsky was named CBS News President and Senior Producer and a new management structure in the news department. "Z" is in the process of doing a "top down" review across all of the news division

Univision the Spanish language network in the US was interviewing Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro. Jorge Ramos (lead anchor) started asking questions Maduro did not like and ordered recording to stop, Ramos and the crew are detained. Their equipment was seized. Ramos managed a phone call while detained but that too was confiscated.

Sums up the situation.
Shouldn't that have been posted in the "John Logie Baird has Invented Television" thread?

Maybe it should go in the NBC thread but Telemundo’s Caracas correspondent, Daniel Garrido, was abducted Tuesday covering the Jorge Ramos story. Around 6AM ET he was kidnapped, forced into a vehicle, hooded and for six hours questioned. He was released but his equipment was too confiscated.
