I don't have a capture from MSNBC or CNBC but every NBCUNIVERSAL channel has a black ribbon with the text Orlando next to their logo in honor of the victims of the terrorist attack at Pulse.

The Orlando attack hit NBC Universal particularly hard: two of their employees were killed.

Luis Vielma worked for Universal Orlando Resort for their Harry Potter ride and Jonathan Camby who worked for Telemundo worked in the audience section of the singing contest "La Voz Kids" (The Voice for Kids) and was also a journalist for Telemundo Puerto Rico.

Comcast / NBCUniversal also donated $1,000,000 to the One Orlando fund which was generous and good publicity. According to a KNBC employee NBC and I assume Telemundo will keep the ribbons up all week while the cable networks were for the weekend.



The one that NBC uses during non news programming is nice. It's their regular peacock with a ribbon centered on top of it. Normally they never place anything on top of it or alter the shape of the logo itself.

Keir Simmons is doing a stand up from London in front of a large (guessing 90+ inch) screen with wood paneling around it on the Today Show. It's a view that I've never seen before. Normally they do a hit from their newsroom or somewhere out in the field.

I know there has been some chat on the forum about the launch of Sunday Today with Willie Giest but I haven't seen any uploads yet. Here's the launch of the first edition. I think it sets just the right tone. The theme is soft, but sounds quite modern, and the headline sequence works really well.

Is this a part of ITN's facilities at Grays Inn Road? NBC's Today has used it a few times this week. It looks a bit sloppy on camera and I don't think NBC would have built a stand up position like this. All I can think of is maybe they are borrowing another studio facility and they don't want the rest to appear on camera.

It also looks like it could have been designed as an insert studio that they aren't using the desk.

Edit :'Bill Neely reported today that the rescue plane made it to the South Pole in a videotaped package. The package included excerpts from his 2008 visit to the South Pole for ITV. I'm having some trouble finding this any help would be appreciated.

And NBC Universo also amended their logos to reflect the colors of the LGBT community.

Kinda funny that they need to modify their logo to the rainbow - look at the peacock.

Anyway the NBC News flash cam in the newsroom works - thought it might be down.

I know this is gossip tripe, but I find it fascinating, and seeing some of the awkward interactions on Morning Joe in the last two days, it sounds like there could be some truth to the rumor:

To be honest I'm surprised this hasn't come out sooner. I can't explain it but just their behavior made me think something was going on. One thing that made me really suspicious was when one of them would be on tour promoting a book or something the other one would always be there. I understand having the cohost make appearances at locations in Washington DC or New York but others across the country just seemed puzzling.

that's quite a nice set up and theme music they've got there.

Maybe I'm not following but what station are you referring to?
