Is most of the news not death, destruction and misery, with a hint of politics and a few nice bits on the side?

There's something a bit more palable about it when it is actual news deserving of being reported, as opposed to Editor's Choice.

Don't think I've ever seen the BBC put a message to apologise for picture break up

EDIT: Now they are showing an interview with a comedian... This is no way news Thumbs down

I happened to turn on this morning after 9 when they were talking about affording to have children and benefits accrued from having children. After 5 minutes I had to turn off - I didn't want to have a miserable start to the day. The whole thing just seemed like a misery slot - not something I want to wake upto in the morning. I'd rather Simon McCoy and Carrie Gracie over that any day thank you very much.

The funny thing of course is that when there actually is a serious, breaking story in the news, this programme isn't covering it and is usually covering something inane instead.

I understand from some posts I stumbled across on Twitter than the OB was via bonded 3G rather than satellite, which may account for the breakup.

Comedians appearing on news programmes are hardly new, the blooper of Tim Vine climbing over the News 24 desk for example.

Left-wing comedian Kate Smurthwaite is a regular on the news channels for her serious views.

Comedians often appear on Question Time - Armando Iannucci and Ian Hislop for instance, others have also appeared on Newsnight as well

I'm not sure I'd call Ian Hislop a 'comedian'. Armando isn't really either.

Joanna Gosling proving.. to me anyway.. that if this was the Joanna Gosling programme every day it would be much better.

GDP figures out at 9:30, and it takes BBC 12 minutes before announcing them.

Yeah, because there's rioting in the street if they're not announced without delay! Rolling Eyes

No:Victoria Derbyshire actually stopped midway through her interview with Sara Thornton to announce the GDP figures, before continuing with the interview. Ben Thompson was on then at 9:42 with a more detailed analysis.

Go to 17:40 in to the iPlayer recording to see the moment: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06411k1/victoria-derbyshire-28072015 (available for 30 days)

Victoria actually forgot what the day is at the end of the program, and whether she would be on the show tomorrow or not. She had to ask her guest whether it is Wednesday or not. Anne Marie Tomchak said that it is, and Victoria said "oh yes I am on tomorrow I'll see you then"... You'd think she would remember whether she is on tomorrow or not...

Noticed on todays show that Victoria is so rude to her interviewees, she just aways looks down at her iPad not even engaging with her guests...

And she also is not very good with saying goodbye to her viewers. Always says "have a good day" with no "bye". Joanna however says "have a very lovely weekend" etc.
