Though it could still be better than some of the programming at that time in the morning...Derbyshire's show on Radio 5 was (in my opinion) ok, if a bit depressing at times.
Perhaps you may have missed the point billy asko was making ...
Could we please rethink using 'VD' as an abbreviation - it's not the best!
No, but they are her initials, and it's unfortunate that they also have another meaning too that is somewhat... painful, to put it mildly.
Somehow, this proposed programme is reminding me more and more of the ITV News Channel programme "Live With Alistair Stewart", so we'll probably see something like "Victoria Derbyshire Live".
Really not sure about this appointment to view type of show so early in the day. It doesn't fit the rolling news style of British news channels and certainly not a BBC news channel. It seems like the program is made more as more with BBC2 then BBC NC in mind.
Maybe it would be better if NC just simulcasted World during this show which can go only on BBC2?
I don't know how you can say that given we have had very little information about the show. A lot of conclusions being jumped to. I suspect it will be pretty similar to Kay Burleys' Sky News slot. The main news interspersed with more interviews.

Afraid Victoria Derbyshire might be a bit Marmite. I had to switch off FiveLive the minute she appeared. Just found her tone and style distinctly irritating.
I always believe in giving new shows a chance though - and it might make a good watch on BBC Two in the morning if they get the guest booking right. Though that isn't cheap (not that they pay guests, more that you need a decent team of bookers to fill air time with well briefed and well researched guests)...
