I only seem to get the thumbs up icon on those posts that have already been kudos-ed by other forum members; otherwise, it doesn't appear.

Sorry to have to ask here.

It might be because you're still a new member?

Ah. OK. Thank you.

I've been in a couple of private offices of senior Government officials, both of which always had BBC News on their flatscreens on the wall, generally on mute. They're both tuned to Sky News today―staff in both told me that it was because there no rolling news on the BBC this morning. Sky will be delighted, and one has to wonder whether this is sensible coming up to Charter Renewal.

I didn't think it was that bad, to be fair.

They were very heavy on audience interaction - I think that is quite unsustainable and wouldn't be surprised to see that cut back a bit over the next few weeks. I hope they do, as the audience make the set look messy...

Also, they must have returned to the transgender children story four times - they need to move on so that it's more of a fast paced show. Sure, dwell on in the first time round but leave it at that.

Obviously they are going for a different audience here - but they clearly think they can get more of this audience to tune in than previously, or they simply wouldn't have gone for it. Unfortunately, it seems that TV Forum members are not such viewers...

Nonetheless I wouldn't be surprised to see the show become more of a hybrid with more breaking news coverage where necessary. I agree that the timing is curious and could have waited until after the election - but at least the show will get a high profile in the run up to May 7.

If this were a (strictly) BBC TWO or even a BBC ONE show, it would work quite well. I am quite surprised that it N24 had to get this programme. In fact, I even found it weird that they choose the mid-to-late mornings to air it on N24, when this is supposed to be a time slot reserved for hard breaking news programmes. If producers wanted to introduce this show, couldn't they have at least placed it at the 17.00-19.00 or 19.00-21.00 time slot when we've had plenty of news stories already unravel? I mean air it first on BBC TWO and then rebroadcast it on N24 in the afternoon. An hour and 45 minutes less of traditional news in the morning is just too much.

This could be an ideal time for a TV Forum member to appear on Newswatch, for those that dislike the new show.

If anyone does, please work in the words "kudos", "tommyrot", and "Dimbleby" into the interview.

At least on This Morning, the feature would have been give at most 8 minutes in the whole show.

Can't watch, won't be watching, don't think it would appeal to me anyway but there probably is an audience to target and I'm all for innovation and experimentation.

Strictly TVF review: those titles are absolutely appalling. Like someone getting to grips with After Effects for the first time, completely flat and lifeless with a horrific wordmark thing to crown it. Can't believe those were passed OK.

Weird studio audience set up too. Can't see that lasting.

It reminded me a little of this short-lived experiment from BBC News way back in 2003:

This was something I was wary of, not a huge deal mind you, but still there's a sizeable amount of TVs in offices, motorway stops, airports etc. tuned into BBC News which may soon be tuned into Sky News.

At least it stayed on BBC TWO and not infest N24.

Awful show, just awful. A continuation of her God awful Radio 5 Live show, a misery fest that she seems to excel in.
