I expect it would mean Breakfast, light content unchanged, would just run on the News Channel until 9:15. They won't drop the lighter content as it might cause them to lose viewers to Lorraine, and it will be a fairly easy way to cut costs.

Regarding this new show, it depends how populist it is, and how willing they are to drop pre-planned features and interviews for rolling breaking news, probably 50% of the time.

The News Channel could run a World News Simulcast from 0830 - 0915. It'd be interesting to see a different perspective, without incurring additional cost. Alternatively Derbyshire could start on the NC at 0830 in rolling news mode, with BBC Two joining at 0915 changing focus then.

Derbyshire new program will most probably be from Studio B. I do hope it isn't a virtual set in A.

With Derbyshire in B, it allows the NC to switch over to breaking news if required, while she stays on BBC Two.

Live Daytime Talk is a bloody awful name. The sort of name you'd give to something on a student radio or TV station.

How about calling it Open Air? Very Happy

The name isn't Live Daytime Talk , that is what the show is. Once a name is announced, it will all change.

Has a couple of knock-ons though ,,,
News Channel Feature repeats at 1030 lost

They could always be aired at 0850, or in the afternoons. Hardtalk doesn't get any other daytime airings for UK viewers, so there is some value in that being on BBC2.

See Hear (Wed 1030) no doubt won't be able to be moved to overnights, so will either have to go to 0845, afternoons regardless of live sport, or weekends.

Would 9-11 still be considered late morning though, not daytime, seeing as This Morning is on at that time.

VD is not my cup of tea at any time of the day.
