I'm sure the "lovely films" element of Derbyshire could be moved to back half hour filler at the weekend on the NC.

I don't get why they've started introducing the show as 'live from Broadcasting House' as though it's come from somewhere different for the last however many years?

Interesting that voiceovers stating a programme's provenance are welcomed and missed when they're gone on some shows 'Live from the Sky News Centre...' or 'Live from Television Centre this is Good Morning Britain with...', but when it's a show that's not particularly liked it's just another thing to kick it with.

Maybe Victoria could do a Steph McGovern and move to Channel 4? On a side note, I wonder if Steph's new Channel 4 show due to air this Spring will be in the same way as Victoria's show was?

Nothing to do with it being rather bad?

I would like Reporters brought back to fill that slot, it's already made by BBC World

It can't be that bad if it wins awards...

Is it really worth pretending that BBC Two actually broadcasts anything before 12:15 (11:15 on Wednesdays). It's just a simulcast of the NC, which everyone has been able to receive since DSO.

If they're capable of closing an entire linear channel, surely they can cut the hours of BBC Two. They survived the publicity about BBC Three.

In most other countries it would simply show a caption (preferably low bandwidth consuming) saying 'Programmes start at 12:15'

The broadcaster is due to make an announcement about its news operation next week.

Hmm, could be more changes going on beyond just this one programme cancellation. I wonder if the channel itself is in danger?

Does the supposed existence of "BBC Two" on weekday mornings only really consist of them putting their own trailers/idents at the end of each hour (replacing the NC's weather/trailers/countdown)?

Surely showing "nothing" (e.g. a closedown caption, or similar) during those hours would be even worse?

I would advocate them showing the kind of old black & white films that would appeal to e.g. an octogenarian/nonagenarian (or whatever) kind of an audience, during all/part of the morning. British WW2 films / Ealing comedies, that sort of thing.

EDIT: I would also advocate closing BBC Four, and merging its remit into BBC Two. If my "old films" suggestion would be prohibitive from a rights/royalties perspective, then this alternative provides the option to show e.g. worthy arts & culture documentaries etc.
