The only TV coverage I have seen of this incident so far is from BBC News with Duncan Golestani who was interviewing an eyewitness giving reports on the incident a short time ago.

A van mowed down a group of Muslim worshipers outside a mosque at Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park.

This looked like a very distressing incident for anyone living in the area earlier. I hope no-one is killed or injured as a result of it. Sad

Sky News were certainly covering the story post 1am and had an eyewitness on the phone. Second time in a week where Kimberley Leonard has covered what could be another tragic overnight news story in London.

Fox news showing more live coverage than Sky News are. Sky News have been frustrating, still showing adverts and sports news.

Ashish Joshi has arrived on scene. He should take the majority of coverage now as Kimberly is struggling a little unfortunately.

Such a shame. I'm not sure what this will be labeled as terrorism, a hate crime or both? Normally in the US the media is quick to label anything that's done by non whites as terrorism. To me this is both. Maybe I haven't been listening clearly enough.

Terrorism is defined as the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims . While a hate crime is defined as a crime motivated by racial, sexual, or other prejudice, typically one involving violence. Driving into a crowd outside a mosque seems pretty political and prejudicial to me.

It is both as are the other incidents of late. There can be no justification for not calling it terrorism so the British media wouldn't dare not.

Of course we're still assuming at this stage it's what it looks like.

Because the emergency services (who are in the early stages of dealing with this still, in the response stage not the investigation stage) haven't decreed it as terrorism, it will be investigated by SO15 (the CT police in the Met).

I was lamenting the fact that certain media outlets in the US media is quick to describe or assume that anything is terrorism when a large number of people were injured. When they knew from the start it happened outside a mosque.

I know, but the UK news media tend to wait for a confirmation as there are tighter controls on what they report. Imagine if they reported terrorism when something was just an accident? Usually until the PM, Military or police confirm it's CT, or say they're investigating it as CT they won't report it.
