Now, in the other ITV1 regions, even including little Channel and Border, viewers are getting their local news.

We, in Northern Ireland, are being 'treated' to repeats of 'Home', a little watched, low-budget series of short films about personal recollections of life in Northern Ireland.

What's more, it's the same tomorrow.

Of course, nothing ever happens over the Christmas period does it?

Happy Holidays, UTV Live.

Odd, I would've thought all of the regions would be back today on 'Holiday Monday' or 'Boxing Day', depedning on what you believe. Meridian have had two bulletins, but as usual on a weekend, there is no late 11pm bulletin. I tend not to watch BBC News, depite their bulletins being longer.

That'll be one reason why the national and regional news wasn't integrated at Lunchtime today then. ITV should have integrated them just to wind UTV up!

Seems a bit odd UTV Live are having 2 more days off than the rest of the ITV News network

UTV are good to themselves in this way - sure nothing ever happens in Northern Ireland any more. Wink

Just imagine if the national/international broadcasters had had the same attitude in the light of on-going events.

UTV - your tv. Aye, right.

It's shocking that UTV Live don't have a news bulletin for five days. Are they really that tight? Can't they let Aidan Browne read the local pages from Teletext instead?

In fact, on the last bulletin before Christmas Eve, Mike Nesbitt commented that "there's no local news tomorrow...", what about the next day or the day after that... or indeed the day after that?

At least BBC NI had local news bulletins and their newsroom back into operation on Boxing Day/St. Stephen's Day/26th.
