HA HA HA! Cockup during sport - but professionally handled by the lovely Claire McCollum.

Liked the GAA caption - is this how UTV Live's sports captions look like, with various sports represented by different icons? ie. A rugby ball for rugby, a football for soccer etc.

btw, I've just realised what the new sidebar captions remind me of...

"Reduce, Reuse and Recyle".. less a PIF, more the UTV corporate mandate... Wink

Managed at last to see a short UTV Live bulletin last Saturday over at a friend's house with Sky... the title sequences mixing together the start of the 2002 titles and the end of the present titles doesn't work, looks like either the CSO backdrop loop doesn't animated or someone forgot to start the animation, and I forgot how bad Logie can be at times, especially when ad-libbing.

Still, good to see UTV finallly taking its Saturday afternoon sports content seriously, and Gillian Porter looks stunning Smile

Is it still the presenter in front of the plasma for the short bulletins?

And where do the breakfast bulletins come from, as GMTV dont use UTV?

Yes, same shot as before, except the old UTV Live logo has been updated with the old one.

Just watching back on some of this week's UTV Live online...

On Thursday's Live at 6, Mike was conducting a two-way with Ken Reid from UTV's London studio - but it seemed to end quite suddenly, after a VT insert from Gerry Adams, Mike more or less said "We wanted to go back to Ken but that's not possible..."

What happened there? Do UTV share their facilities with other stations who needed the use of the studio or the satellite link?

HA HA HA! Just spotted a cock-up on the same edition where Lynda handed into a report, cutting into Mike instead covered up by the sidebar graphics! Smile

I spotted that because of B(l)and Aid, the weather forecast on Thursday's UTV Live came between Live at 6 and ITN, without a presenter... and the second-long sting showed the current logo, have UTV amended this on the 2250 weekday bulletins?

And has Neil Brittain moved to the sports department? I know UTV were looking for a new sports reporter/presenter but I was hoping for a new face... hope this doesn't mean the Graham Reaper has left Havelock House Sad

And two live OBs on Wednesday's Live at Six from London and Dublin? That'll bring down the profits a bit this year Wink

GMTV News in Northern Ireland is produced by ITN's Belfast Bureau.

However from January, they will be produced by an indie - Macmillan Media.

I wonder if the change in GMTV news contractor will mean any on-screen changes - like updating the GMTV logo on astons to the current one, a new line-up of presenters/reporters...

Although I doubt there'll be any changes at UTV... still the silent idents.
