UTV have just treated us to an updated UTV Live look for their 10.55 bulletin. It hasn't gone corporate, the original music has been tweaked (again) but the set is still the same (with the old logo on the glass behind the presenter). Astons do bear a resemblance to those used by ITV News.

... and the http://www.utvplc.com/ site has been relaunched and gives full details on the recently re-vamped OB trucks with EVS (clearly included for the GAA work)

Wow. Looking at that site, in some ways it's a shame that UTV won't buy out ITV!

The buggers!

Are the astons actually in Helvetica or Arial?

Any other changes?

Yes... I spotted the new UTV plc site about two weeks ago, very impressive and stylish by UTV's standards, nice to read more about the facilities at Havelock House and the company's staff policy, like it Smile

The astons are one or the other. I think Helvetica! Frank and Tina now sit on a red sofa and handed to Mike n'Linda who stood in front of their desks for the top story. The redone music is erm... interesting... particularly at the end, lots of thuds and bangs!

I will have to inspect the changes tomorrow night - on duty until 9 tonight.

I presume that these are from today's relaunch, it fits in with things that people have said!

What can I say - it looks excellent, very professional looking by UTV's standards, even the generic ITV News captions fit in perfectly, I love the look of the headline sequence, the new titles work well with the old set (wonder if the blown bulbs were replaced?), and delighted that the astons and captions are in Helvetica, not Arial.

Well done UTV, I'm dead impressed, can't wait to see the new look in evidence later tomorrow. Smile
