It's been off air for this past few minutes.

The report ended there was no sound in the studio, once Lynda realised this she stopped and they've so far been holding on a moving UTV Live slide with Gillian Porter occasionally providing a live apology.

Do the graphics usually animate? They seem to be going on and off without any fades.

love that CA apology "it's now been established that we're having some difficulty with sound". I think that can be safely described as stating the bleedin' obvious!

EDIT: In fact, was that the CA? Seemed to be a lot of noise in the background for a con booth.

Yes it was the CA, Gillian Porter, when I heard all the noise i assumed that Lynda and Paul where coming back again, talking over

The noise just sounded like the gallery; in IVC studios the tx director speaks to the announcer via a small speaker in the IVC studio rather than an earpiece in general, which is switched off (usually) when the announcer goes on-air. Probably this was just forgotton about in the panic.

Good bit of lateral thinking to run the programme from continuity. If most regional programmes break down these days, that's it.

Makes you wonder how they actually got the continuity studio on air so quickly, and with the VT inserts available. A good effort as you say
