Not sure there is currently a thread for this but I thought I would create one but if there already is then happy for it to get merged.

The IIowa Democratic caucuses start tonight and marks the first major event towards the process of deciding who is going to be the candidates for the 2020 US election.

For those who are wanting to watch coverage in the UK, it's being shown from 9pm tonight on CNN (4pm ET) with MSNBC showing it in America from 6pm ET.

It's approaching Midnight ET, and there still haven't been any results from the Iowa Caucus. Technical problems with some app software are apparently to blame. Anderson Cooper anchoring the coverage at this time, and their panel, including former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum, who CNN are crediting as a Senior Political Commentator, are certainly having to work tonight. Ordinarily, we would have had the result by now.

Just use a pencil and paper, it's not that difficult!
(yes I know it's a caucus, not an election but the point stands, keep it simple)

The app was only tested at minimum load for a few weeks. Something like this should have been tested for at least a year. To top it off when downloading users got messages saying it was a potentially dangerous app. They also apparently kept it secret from the caucus managers. If they didn’t want to do a full year out testing surely they could have done several full scale mockups a few times a week leading up.

Also Nevada was set to use this app but they decided not to.

A guest I believe on Beyond 100 Days said that the DNC should develop an app and test it for a years leading up to the election. I’m not sure how they’ll handle it as some states primaries are run by parties and others are run by the state board.
Don’t let anyone treat you like you’re a VO/SOT when you’re a PKG.

There’s been talk that the head of the company who developed the app is married to a senior member of Pete Buttigieg’s campaign. Accusations of bias and rigging are flying in all directions.
