News 24 NUJ members are on "work to rule" next week according to Media Guardian....have they been balloted yet?

A ballot isn't needed for a work to rule. By definition, it's working to the terms of a contract, so doesn't count as withdrawing labour.

The work-to-rule is an interesting development, given the election campaign now being in full swing and May 5th undoubtedly one of the biggest news events that happens.

It'll be a shame if news output is affected by this industrial action, particularly at a time when BBC News could be showcasing its strength in numbers. However - if it is affected, perhaps it'll give BBC management the kick up the rear that I am increasingly convinced they need. Good for the unions I say.

Its disgusting how the BBC is going about these job cuts.

The BBC get enough money from us! Why would they need to cut jobs. Instead of paying thousands of pounds on some people dancing up and down, they should be paying their staff and securing their jobs!

That ignorance doesn't even deserve a reply.
