SO said Company keep the rushes to their get one over on trump in then? Although its now being said someone in NBC is in trouble because if someone covered it up for 11 years...

They wouldn't necessarily keep all their rushes, at least not long term. Eventually, after the production has finished and there's unlikely to be any need for them they'll be junked. These days when tapes are smaller or non existent there's less pressure for space in production companies offices but they'll still run out sometime


However news, topical programmes and other ongoing regular shows like the one concerned will keep selected rushes as stock shots. So if they want some general pics of Donald Trump for example they can just use ones from their library.

No, they kept their rushes in case they needed stock footage of the/a bus and whatever else might be on that tape. It could have been used (without the audio) in a re-edit, later programme, or never have even been used again. The stock footage just so happened to have that audio on it.

I don't know how someone might be in trouble for "covering something up" if they weren't aware of its significance at the time and probably forgot about its existence.

I have rushes for every freelance project I've worked on in the past 5 years even though I will never look it again or do anything with it again. Because that's how it works. You ingest your footage (or copy it, or whatever medium you're using) and then you work off that and then archive the lot together.

You don't always NEED a reason to keep something, you just do because it's a) part of the workflow and b) you like to archive everything together as a complete unit.

Now, of course, you may be absolutely right: any crew member working on that show could have remembered it, made a note for later, and then if anything ever came up then they'd go look at the archive. But the reason for keeping the archive in the first place is NOT because they think it will be juicy later.

Lets be fair here both candidates are neither the best nor the greatest. Everything is coming out of the word work now, and it seems the leaks are part of a bigger ploy to destroy trump. What annoyances me is the current US media would rather have Clinton and thus are playing down all her problems. You have to ask yourself at what point should these people have their power taken away.

Surely that's because Trumps flaws are far far worse and far more plentiful than anything that Hillary can be accused of. It's just one thing after another day after day, week after week. As I said up the thread, the reason there's not as much coming out about Hillary is because she is a politician and has been for a while, it's either all out there or it didn't happen because she's had to be careful and tactful. A lot is just right wing conspiracy too.


Trump is a really extraordinary and unprecedented situation in American politics. Any one of the endless number of scandals over the last 2 months would have sunk other candidates by them self. The media in the US have given him a really easy ride but that couldn't continue. The turning point was his 'birther' announcement that ended up as a hotel advert. The media realised he was taking them for a ride. That coincided with his polling improving and the realisation that he could actually win, and what the consequences of that would be.


Remember that the two papers responsible for the the two recent major revelations - The Washington Post and The New York Times have been targeted by Trump. Not really surprising that the excellent journalism that's come out of those papers has led to his campaign sinking


The attitude that they're both as bad as each other so should be treated the same is false equivalence.

Yes all of Hilary things are out in the public domain, and some of it just as bad as trump. Its strange that both have such dirtiness to them that nothing sticks to them. When people start to believe there not as bad as each other its clear your not looked around to see what either one has really got up to.

The media has a love hate thing with trump, since its brings in the viewers but there dam stupid to believe he never has a chance and you still cant rule him out just yet. If you do the media are the biggest fools ever then.

I don't think it's really fair for anybody to be judged on something they said many years ago. Im sure we have all said things we regret, and held views which changed over your life.

Personally I think all of this tape business only serves Trump in his favour. I think a lot of Americans buy into the conspiracy etc. Will he win? no idea. According to the polls, NO, but can they be trusted.

I can understand why you would not want to vote for Trump, but Clinton also has many issues, which I could not overlook.

From a technical view point, they must of had someone sit there ages going through hours and hours of tape to find this.

The fallout continues. Billy Bush has been sack from NBC TODAY after less than 90 days.

So I want to make it legally clear that I am not specifically accusing Trump of anything - I know nothing of what he does in his private life.

What I would say, however, is that given our recent experience of someone who uses troubling language in public having turned out to have "hidden in plain sight", there is every reason to take this very seriously.

This isn't your "phwoar, look at her" guff you get from overgrown teenagers, this is somewhat more graphic and specific.

It is most likely he was just trying to show off, but it certainly shouldn't just be dismissed as just "locker room banter".

With Trump that's because before the dust settles on each scandal, another 2 come along!


I'm sorry but I have been following the election very intently and the amount of scandals and allegations surrounding Trump far outweigh Hillarys. That's not just because they're not being reported, there just are more. He says stupid and inflammatory things, contradicts himself and keeps the fact checkers very very busy.
