ITV were lucky that they had the live coronavirus Q&A on air at the time although I question their judgement in continuing with the rest of the programme including a celeb talking about his lockdown experience as a lighthearted end to the show each week
ITV covered it almost straight away about 15 mins ago as they were in their Coronavirus Q&A programme. I didn’t think that would have been live, but it obviously is.
As the Eastenders credits played out without any trails/credit squeeze over them I had an ominous feeling there was some sort of announcement coming up imminently
C4 News were still on air so presumably they covered it too. They have got to be very careful though how they cover this and not turn it into a story based around one man, however important he is, when so many are suffering.

Felt very eery watching Huw Edwards deliver the news flash on BBC One, when he himself was in hospital only last week.
Whatever our political colours and leanings, I think we all wish him the best. Although being a conservative it's easier for me to say that. His fiancée must be in absolute pieces, especially as she can't be with him.
