The last British Prime Minister to die in office was the 3rd Viscount Palmerston in 1865. Spencer Perceval is the only British Prime Minister who has been assassinated.

I recall when I went on a locally organised tour of the Houses of Parliament others in our group telling the guide that we all came from the same town as John Bellingham. Thankfully that fact wasn't misinterpreted, and we'd already gone through security. (I think we may have drifted slightly off- topic from TV presentation.)

Nothing wrong with a bit of history.

I was surprised no-one pointed out that ITV's question today was given to a reporter from ITV Granada

Given the latest news about the PM and that it’s easily veered onto quite off-topic discussion, this will be closed.
