At least yesterday we got the Border weather today it's Tyne Tees weather.I'm sorry it's not good enough Border should have a back up plan .Leeds are taking the easy and lazy way out just for a change and broadcasting the whole of Tyne Tees output on Border TV they should have gave us a weather at the very least .

But they could have recorded a package and send it to Tyne Tees or Leeds to edit

They could have done if Carlisle wasn't cut off from the outside world

Well if ITN managed to get a piece from there then presumably there's someone with an SNG there... is a little cooperation between different parts of ITV too much to ask for these days?

I'm wondering if the transmitters are now rebroadcasting Tyne Tees rather than being fed directly from Leeds. It's likely that the signal to the transmitters passes through Border's premises, and without power they're off-air.

It's North East Tonight again here in Scotland the top story was about the flooding in Carlisle and they have pinched the pictures from ITV News.

Obviously no news in Scotland as usual an after thought by this English company Twisted Evil are they providing a regional news service or not .Over 24 hrs now and Border still can't get on air with a single report it's unbelievable what the **** are they doing.

And exactly where else are they going to get their pictures from? Tyne Tees TV obviously aren't going to send a crew out to Carlisle to film it, and Border can't film anything, so it's really not hard to see why they would use ITN's pictures...

Tyne Tees News are doing well enough to bother making a report for an area which is NOT from their region... Rolling Eyes . And suggesting that they're going to research Scottish stories and provide pictures from the Scottish borders is just crazy...

If you want coverage of either Scotland or Cumbria at the moment, best switch to BBC. Tyne Tees are and have always provided a good service for the North East, it's an extra that they're considering Cumbria this weekend... can you see ITV London doing a story about the South coast - I think not.

Could be no power? Flooded studios? Damaged equiptment?

Whatevers happened, i'm sure there's a valid reason.

ITV could've earned major brownie points from broadcasting Lookaround from either one of TTTV's bases or from Leeds. Even if it was a Flood special with most of the programme using ITN's pictures. Mind you if ITN can get a reporter and a camera operator into Carlisle and get the pictures out surely Border or TTTV could've done the same.

Couldn't a Border presenter have got to Newcastle to present and at least make the region feel they've got a TV service.

Strikes me that ITV plc have taken the easiest option, not the best for the viewers. Will Ofcom be asking questions I wonder?

Oh i'd never have know you don't say Rolling Eyes. The point i'm making here is Border should have back up plans. The biggest story to break in their region and they can't even cover it Shocked.

London would be an odd one too [though I daresay will never be an issue].

When there were power problems at Gray's Inn Road last year, London got Meridian North's late bulletin in the 10.30

No power in Carlisle. Is that a good enough reason? Rolling Eyes

Get off your high horse and don't patronise me .I'm NOT suggesting that Tyne Tees cover Scottish stories. However i think that Border should be doing something there has been NO regional news from them all weekend.Carlisle isn't that big and they should have a Border reporter there doing something either via Tyne Tees or ITN.
