Answer: Maybe they will, maybe they won't, who knows. I have to wait and see when I'm working for BBC TV News.

Just out of interest, Is there any psychiatric test's to pass before getting a job at the BBC?

Not that I know of, why do you ask? Confused Laughing

I was just trying to work out your chances of getting a job there.

Well, I think my chances are very high because like I said earlier when I'm determined to do something I ALWAYS achieve it.

Well good luck and I guess it will all depend on if they have a psychiatric test.

It's always great here when you start a topic and it manages to get to a second page.

Even better when you log-in an see it's reached four pages - but disheartening to discover the last couple of pages are solely an argument between a couple of members.

It's not just annoying for the topic starter, but also for those interested in the subject and have taken the time to respond.

Just remember this is a forum where people are entitled to express their opinions - it's fine to criticise their opinion, but it certainly isn't acceptable to criticise members for expressing their opinion.

If the argument must continue use the PM feature - but for now let's get back to where we left off before we were so rudely interupted - something about jokes in news bulletins!

Maybe that's one way the BBC could give Graham Norton a job - get him to come in at the end of the 10pm news and give his own analysis on the latest suicide bombings in the middle East !!!

What psychiatric test, I've already stated that no psychiatric test takes place for people who are interveiwed for a job at BBC TV News. Confused Rolling Eyes I think you're the insane one around here, as you don't understand simple English!

That would explain the numerous threads you start, then. You dont do badly out of your topics Brekkie, so try not to be so precious about one which goes astray.

It is, I think, perfectly acceptable to pass comments regarding the repeated banging of a single drum, time after time after time. I'm looking squarley at Winnifred here.

If ever a poster needed to be brought to task, its this one.

Winifred I don't really want to be having a go at you but determination is hardly going to get you to be sat in the London studio reading the news. Besides, it would be increasingly rare to have a Scottish person reading the national news hence the majority of us not seeing you read anyway. In fact I believe that the most northern national region is Philip Hayton from Yorkshire, thankfully slightly more north than myself. It's best to have that as you're ultimate goal/ambition and focus on being another kind of journalist and settle with having your work published in newspaper or radio.

As for this topic, and I apologise to have to continue the discussion with Winifred before returning to topic, I believe that BBC ONE news offers a summary of the days news and therefore, really, there isn't time for a joke as for every joke it is wasting time updating us with the latest news, sport or weather. With N24 at least it continuously runs so there is time for jokes as if they don't get all of the news in then they can continue over into the next slot. I think it is also an effective use of 'filling time', albeit for a minute or so, if there isn't much news or it is developing like in the mornings.
It is for this reason really why one presenter is better for BBC ONE bulletins, excluding Breakfast, and two presenters for N24.

I originate from London, but I'm studying at Edinburgh Uni, hence I'm living in Scotland. I have a southern English accent, so I do have a good chance of reading the National News for BBC TV in London.

Well, that's your argument straight out of the window r2ro. Laughing

If anyone else wants to give me greif BRING IT ON. Laughing

There IS a God, and he's just added six wonderful little letters beneath Winifred's name.

I don't think we've ever called Robert a god before have we?

I do hope they shall also be appearing under a few other members' names soon for example, southwales
