TV news from the Continent rarely gets mentioned here, but I'm curious what you guys think of the new open, graphics and set unveiled today by ProSieben in Germany:
I haven't seen a video of the open, but some of these screenshots have elements very similar to the BBC's current look, as well as that of Australia's Seven Network. Having said that, the open does look original in many respects, and I'm impressed by it.
The astons are well designed, and judging from the screenshots, the titles look well thought out too, I will have a little look at it tomorrow on screen.

We'd be very grateful if you, or anyone else with access to ProSieben, would be able to post a video clip of the open here!
to be honest, the European studios are MOSTLY all virtual. Unlike our, go back in studios from virtual to normal to worse. At least ITV are using VR, but arn't doing a great job. But it is mostly German stations that use it.
PICS FROM ZABALO.COM
Why cant the BBC or ITV do a decent studio to show up the continental europeans (ps, im not even going to go into RTE in Ireland's studio, as i think it is really bad!)
(ps, im not even going to go into RTE in Ireland's studio, as i think it is really bad!)
Please don't. And don't even think about mentioning TV3 News. Nothing could ever come close to TV3's abysmal lightbulbs and curvy oversized monstrosity.

TV3's studio is far better then RTE's. They show (i say) newsroom in the background and they use all they have (ie the desk). RTE on the other hand, have a cardboard backdrop, that is changed once a week for "The Week In Politics" or as i would say "A Week In Our Lives that nothing much happen in the Dail becouse they really dont sit there". Then it is changed back. The plasma screen is only used on News On Two, but still it should be used more often.
I must admit TV3's studio had bad lighting works on it.
And the Italian set in your post (
Tg2
on
RaiDue
) isn't virtual; believe it or not, that's a real videowall in the background (with, yes, a real door for the anchor).
BTW, POP TV in Slovenia uses a nice American-style newsroom set:
