I think Gavin just said on Newsnight that camera crews have been withdrawn for their own safety - they are now talking to a Guardian journo on the phone instead. NC are talking to a 5 Live journo, also phone only.

BBC are now talking to a FIVE live reporter about Woolwich.
BBC World is with the PBS edition of World News America with Jane O Brien presenting from Washington, it's all prerecorded reports with more background info on how this all started.

You know it's serious when they keep the newsreaders in the studios.
So what do we reckon the News channel will do at 1am, surely with it as bad as it is in London, they really shouldn't be taking Newsday and Asia Business Report.
It doesn't usually take much for a BBC News Special on BBC1, we've had one for all kinds of light fluff before (I.e snow in the south of england) but there is no sign of anything like that on any channel tonight.
News Specials tend to be more analytical pieces though don't they? This is still a developing situation, probably more worthy of a News Report signposting people to the NC if they want rolling coverage.

Surely the logical choice would be to simulcast the News channel on BBC1 earlier than scheduled.
