Meanwhile on the NC we've been told there'll be no business or sport "obviously".

I'm sure they will still have time for the weather though.

Al Jazeera still seem to have a helipcopter taking live pics. The glowing embers in Croydon viewed in the dark are quite haunting.

Do they have their own chopper (which would be really impressive) or is it some kind of a pool arrangement?

It was BBC Helicopter Pictures when the furniture store was on fire in Croydon.

CNNI seem to think on such a busy news today (this and the economic news) that World Sport is currently more important ... From fantatsic coverage an hour ago to nothing now

So JD Sports is being looted in Clapham. The looters obviously need a new supply of Hoodies Confused Sad.

Again shot of presenter whilst listening to person on the phone rather than stock pictures in a repeat of the phone reports from Chris Rogers in the last hour.

Maybe they only have one crew, who are too tired to make another flight. It's the only reason I can think to explain them not sending it up again.

Unusually, the main business story has been covered in depth during the main bulletin with Robert Peston, so not too much of a loss. Can understand why BBC World News would want to take time out to cover the Stock Market jitters given it's the main global news story, though.

Why did they bother trailing it at the TOTH then?

To give them something to fill the gap where the regions were doing their headlines?

To whoever mentioned that ITV should drop the local news, where does that leave Central who need to report on the incident in Birmingham?

With two police helicopters in the area and two or three news helicopter, could it be that the police have requested less use of helicopters? Surely it is quite dangerous and hinders the police helicopters use of air space having so many news crews flying overhead too?
