London Tonight early had Robin the weatherman as the "in studio" presenter (wow, ITN really are running it on a shoestring) and as the link to Tottenham kept going down, was frequently thrown to in order to carry on the script, in order to carry on the script. Led to an awkward bit at the close of the programme where he said "next is the weather with - of course, me, and..."

A what-what? This is the second time you've said this, and I'm still no wiser as to what you actually mean.

I think he means Gigawave. Makers of Radio Cameras which just bolt on the back of the camera and transmit from an aerial on top. Quite nice pieces of kit, meaning you just send a normal crew and you can transmit pictures.

Chances are sending to the helicopter or, a nearby receive site / OB truck (more likely the helicopter for safety reasons!)

This is getting surreal now. Much of London is gripped by a state of near anarchy, Birmingham is flaring up, and shots have been reported during disturbances in Yorkshire. The media are going to have to be particularly careful now with what they report. It'll be easy to get caught up in the moment and start saying things that have yet to be confirmed.

Gigawave only make the radio Tx part, they clip onto most popular makes of camera.

The other firm that also makes the kit, was Link Research, aka Vislink but they have recently
purchased Gigawave

Both companies had more or less an equal share of the market, so much for competition eh ?!
